A look back at 2014…

“Last year was an interesting one in more than one respect. Obviously, talking about music, the 3rd KYPCK-album “Imena na stene” was the biggest thing. We did 28 shows with the band supporting the album, including 11 cities in Russia. Both numbers were new records for the band and especially the Russian-tour gave us so much positive feedback and energy to last until our next visit. The shows were amazing, very emotional and the crowds were simply awesome – loud, enthusiastic and loving. It really showed us that we’ve done something right with our music…

All in all, in terms of concerts 2014 was only a slight improvement from the previous one, with 58 shows altogether, almost half of them with KYPCK. It means that things are still not going in the right direction and I need to work more with the booking agencies to get more shows. That’s also a reason for trying a couple of new projects this year and playing with some new people to keep things interesting. Check out the Concerts-section for upcoming shows!

As for my plans in 2015? Well, the 7th Dreamtale-album would be the next in line, but the schedule seems to be moving all the time. At the moment, it seems we’ll be releasing it in the autumn. Then there’s the “age-old question” of my solo album… I didn’t get any positive feedback from any labels concerning the promotional CD, so basically it’s now a decision about scrapping it or releasing it through our own label. Neither of which I would really like to do… I think I’ll just focus on my vacation now and try to recharge & energize myself for the upcoming year. I’ll try to write regularly in my Finnish-blog, too, and I also opened a Twitter-account, which will be mainly about issues outside of music, as there’s too much interesting going on to just talk about song lyrics. Anyway, keep in touch, thanks for your e-mails and messages, and see you at the shows!” -E
